The Tomra QVision is a fat, protein and moisture analysis solution for the meat industry. The QVision Analyzer allows suppliers to provide a consistent product quality that provides large savings by increasing profitability and simplifying daily operation.

Meat producers are constantly looking for a consistent taste in their end product. Stable fat, protein and moisture levels are what clients want and TOMRA Sorting Solutions can provide a process analytics solution to meet those needs. Working Principle

The Tomra QVision Analyser applies unique transflection technology which measures VIS-NIR light that has penetrated deep into the meat before it is analyzed. Cooling and mixing

Rotary drum freezers consist of a sloping cylindrical drum, which is rotating around its axis.
Product and cooling medium are loaded continuously at the highest entrance point of the drum. By the rotating movement, both are intensively mixed while, at the same time, sliding to the lower exit of the drum. The stirring movement and the mixing prevent products from clumping together. Linear Tunnel – Bottom drop for continuous cooling or freezing

Cryogenic Tunnel

Cryogenic tunnels use liquefied carbon dioxide (LCO2) or liquefied nitrogen (LIN) for continuous cooling and freezing. A conveyor belt moves the product along the tunnel. Controlled injection of a cryogenic liquefied gas that immediately evaporates lowers the temperature in the tunnel. The latent heat of evaporation is the main source of cooling energy. Turbulence fans spread the gas in the tunnel in a controlled way and efficiently transfer the cold to the product’s surface. Exhaust fans extract the residual gases. (more…)
